Enchanté!

Atlantic Canada's 'sultry songstress' Karen Myatt will release her debut recording Enchanté on Saturday, February 14, at the Rockbottom Brewpub in Halifax.

The release is the Nova Scotia native's first solo effort, and contains ten classic and contemporary jazz standards.

"This is the music I grew up with and fell in love with," says the vocalist, who has starred in a number of local and regional theatrical productions. "Interpreting these songs has been a dream come true."

Engineered by Darren Van Niekerk at Sonic Temple Studios in Halifax, and mixed and mastered by Christian St. Germain in Montreal, Enchanté features Holly Arsenault on piano, David Langstroth on bass, Brock Caldwell on drums and a special appearance by The Rhapsody Quintet.

"I'm thrilled that Holly, David, Brock and the Quintet will all be performing with me at the CD launch," says Myatt. "It's likely a few other surprise guests will join me on stage that night as well."

Releasing the recording on Valentine's Day, she smiles, is more than fitting.

"These are love songs, written by lovers for lovers. And they are meant to be sung from the heart."
